There was a low of 0C last night. Time to move south!
At , we departed the Red Canyon Campground in sunshine, 11C . Went back through Panguitch, stopped at Subway for a breakfast sandwich while Ken went for propane.
By we were on the way up Hwy 89, and then left onto Hwy 20.
At we were at 7000ft., and starting to climb to 7920 ft . After reaching the summit it was back down on an 8% grade for 4 miles .
At 5850 Ft , we reached Interstate 15 South, which is a flat, straight, 4 lane divided highway with a speed limit of 80MPH! Not a cloud in the sky and temp is 21C .
Passed through Cedar City & saw the Wal-Mart we shopped at yesterday.
Went in to Kolob Canyon, but the scenic drive was not RV friendly, so just looked at the Visitor Centre then left.
Took Exit 27 to Utah 17, and then left onto Utah 9 which was a lovely drive, lots of large homes. Arrived at
What an awesome backdrop for our campsite!
After getting set up & having lunch, we took the shuttle to the Visitor Centre.
After touring the Visitor Centre, we decided to take the shuttle ride all around the park to get an overview of the park. This park is so well organized, it is amazing! The shuttles run every 7 minutes to ferry people through the park. You can get on & off whenever you want (at designated stops).
Upon reaching the far end of the shuttle route, at Temple of Sinawava , we got off and walked the Riverside Walk, a 2.2 mile hike along a paved trail following the Virgin River along the bottom of a narrow canyon. Awesome sheer canyon walls and hanging gardens in the rock,
Boarded the Shuttle bus & went back to the campground.
