Day 18, September 2 - On to Durango

Today was a travel day. Although we only drove 266km, the route covered some steep ups and downs. Travelling west toward the mountains, we passed through flat ranch lands before slowly climbing to Wolf Creek Pass which is 10,867 ft elevation and crossed the Continental Divide yet again.

Now a 7% downgrade for the next 8 miles. It took only 15 minutes to descend 3000 ft!
Passed by Chimney Rock Archaeological Area, which is a 4,100-acre site containing the remains of the the Anasazi people. It is impressive, even from a distance.

After a lunch stop, we arrived at the Durango KOA. Yippee! Wi-Fi, 50 amps and Cable TV!!!!
