Day 20, September 4, Durango to Mesa Verde

After breakfast, we decided to move on to Mesa Verde National Park, which sounds like a fantastic place.

Arrived early, then after lunch went out to see some sights. Went to Park Point Overlook, which houses a Fire Tower and gorgeous views.

We did a self-guided tour of Spruce Tree House which had some awesome cliff dwellings. Amazing to think that ancient peoples lived in these buildings in 900 - 1200AD. You have to imagine that the walls were built to the roof of the cave.

After that, we went back to the Visitor Centre and bought tickets for the Long House tour tomorrow.
