Day 33, Torrey to Panguitch

A thunderstorm rolled through at this morning, with a low of 8.2C, followed by showers off & on as we packed up.
For those following on a map, we decided to take the roundabout route, Hwy 24west to Hwy 62, then south on Hwy 89 instead of driving the rigs down the winding, elevation changes of Hwy 12. At we got underway as the skies are starting to clear. Still a cool 8C.
Stopped in Loa to pick up some groceries. Rain stopped and blue sky is appearing. 9C
We reached the summit of the mountain at 8385ft, followed by an 8% downgrade for 2 miles.

As we turned on to Hwy 62, there were low clouds over the mountains.

It was a scenic drive through mountains, canyons and plains to Panguitch.  After checking in to Red Canyon RV Park, we drove in to Panguitch and wandered the town. There are 5 gas stations and one grocery store, along with numerous souvenir and Indian craft shops. Ken enjoyed playing guitar with some locals....

We have cable TV and Wi-Fi – however the internet is only available at a ‘hot-spot’ in a pavilion.
