March 4, Move to Lake Havasu City

Fuelled up at $3.999/gallon. Price goes up every day!
Ken & Lynda met us when we arrived at Campbell Cove RV Resort in Lake Havasu City. It was sunny & a lovely 78F (24C) The bonus was that we have great Wi-Fi at our site AND Cable TV (150+ channels!)

After a quick lunch, we were heading to the Visitor Center but were sidetracked by a Swap Meet that was just wrapping up. Then it was on to the London bridge which was full of line dancers! Hard to se by the pic, but the bridge is full of dancers. Organizers are hoping Lake Havasu will dance into history with the worlds largest line dance on the London Bridge. There were 1140 line dancers registered & dancing to the "Electric Slide" on the bridge (which was shut down to vehicular traffic). It was awesome to see!

We walked along the Bridgewater Channel, enjoying the boats, people and a gorgeous day - 80+F

Following that, we returned to the bridge to catch the ferry which runs across the lake to Havasu Landing, California, lands owned by the Chemehuevi Indian Tribe. We arrived after a 20 minute ferry ride, only to find out that all that is there is a tiny Casino, RV Park, Hardware store, gas station (with diesel at $5.00/gallon), and a grocery store.
After a walk around, we boarded the ferry back to Lake Havasu City.
