March 1, Hieroglyphics Trail

Drove to Gold Canyon to meet up with Leisure World's Hiking group at the Lost Goldmine Trailhead in the Superstition Mountains at 8:00.

Gorgeous scenery was all around us.

After a pleasant hike, we had to do some scrambling over boulders down into a wash in order to get close to the petroglyphs.

We started to continue on the trail past the petroglyphs, but decided it was too rough & steep and we didn't want to risk any broken bones!

 

By 11:00, we returned safely to the trailhead.
