Monday, Oct 8, On to Rhode Island

Happy Thanksgiving to all our fellow Canadians!

Today we set off under sunny skies, 10C.
By the time we reached Providence 40 minutes later, it had warmed up to 13C.

Providence is the capital and most populous city of Rhode Island and was one of the first cities established in the United States. Located in Providence County, it is the third largest city in the New England region, with a population of 178,042. Situated at the mouth of the Providence River, at the head of Narragansett Bay, the city's small footprint is crisscrossed by seemingly erratic streets and contains a rapidly changing demographic. We just stayed on the Interstate, not wishing to tackle the city streets,

We arrived at Whispering Pines Campground a mere 1 1/2 hours after leaving the KOA, only to find this one almost deserted. Most of the 'seasonals' have packed up & left for the winter and apparently we are the last ones to check in before the campground closes.
The Wi-Fi is excellent, since there is hardly anyone else using it! Spent the afternoon catching up on the Blog.
