Got up with the alarm at 6:00am! Then off to Mike & Diane's for a hike on Camelback mountain, taking the Cholla Summit trail.
After an hour's drive, Diane, Marcel & I reached the trailhead at 8:30. It started out chilly, but soon warmed up after we got going.
Saguaro cactus, which were plentiful, along with awesome views!
We went up, and up, and up...............
The view of Phoenix from the "saddle" of the camel, which we reached after an hour of climbing a rocky trail. Unfortunately, the air was a little hazy.
By 10:35, we returned to the trailhead, after a great hike! Apparently, everyone who hikes Camelback for the first time reports that it was more difficult than they expected!
As a reward, we all went to Sorranos for lunch - Mexican - good stuff!
Visited for the afternoon, then returned to Mesa Regal to do laundry. Have to be up early tomorrow for another hike!
